    Buddha Bless You Hand Strike

In xiao hong quan the is a vertical strike with the edge of the hand. it is used throughout the form. i was given a simple application for this move from my teacher ,but was not satisfied with it. I feel this strike can be used/was designed for defend against front grab attempts, such as a two handed choke attempt,a double handed lapel grab or front bear hug attempt. because the hand is vertical and knifed and the strike comes straight down the middle,it can fit easily between the opponents grabbing arms.

does anyone know any applications or theories for his strike, other then simply strike the guys chest? seem like such an awkward way to put your hand and arm simple to strike a guy in the chest.

Grab the lead hand and pull him into your palm strike to the face.

He will be turned because of the pull. Your strike will hit the side of the jaw and torque his neck.

Because your hand is open, you can grab his head/collar quickly and follow up from there.

Other target can be collar bone. I wouldn't go for chest.

Especially look at what the non striking hand is doing.

Downward parries and hand at waist mean controlling and pulling into the strike.
