Back in the day, before Nigerian movies and Mexican Soap Operas took over the Kenyan market, Karate movies were quite fashionable.
That is how we got to know about the likes of Jet Li, Bruce lee and Jackie Chan. The movies were often accompanied by the voice-over of DJ Afro whose commentary made the movies more interesting.
As it turns out not only the Chinese could make these movies but also Kenyans, check out this side-splitting clip by the name Gicagi that has been nominated for three categories in the River Wood academy awards. They have been nominated for the Best feature, Best Cinematography and best lead actor categories
