    Yes, and it is quite possible to do it well too.

    I had a thing when I was learning Northern Shaolin to try and do the sets left handed. It changed everything, stepping, power, co-ordination.
    The southern style I learned already covers it.

    It's a good idea to do so. You may not ever get as good as the side you favour, but at least you'll understand what's what with you.

    For

    - "general" technique, you train both sides.
    - "door guarding" technique, you train one side only.

    In the following picture, it's clear to see that the old man's "right foot instep" had a mark that he didn't have on his left foot instep. There was a particular technique that he had trained on his right side only. He had never trained that particular technique on his left side (he told me on this in person). If it was good enough to train one side for our previous generation, it's good enough for us.
