    Chi Sao- Crossing the bridge

    There is no REAL secrets in Wing Chun, but because the forms are conceptual you have to know how to decipher the information..That's the secret..

    I wouldn't advise the under laap from above your own elbow in response to the elbow control. For one, if your partner goes in deep enough it will be very tight and you'll be put off balance. It'd be very difficult to laap and chop against that, and it'd put you in a potentially even more compromised position if the partner continues to pressure you and not just stop and keep distance. This kind of response, using biu-ji, I'd leave to more desperate situations.

    Instead, I'd suggest a simple shift and jam-sau to cut them off and retain facing on a new, superior line. It must be done reflexively when they attempt to take the elbow. This is a safer and more direct response.

    Thanks for your input..Yes,I agree you could use chum in that sistuation. What I do depends on the pressure I get so if its a little I might do what was in the video if its a alot I might do something else.
