If your going to use WC then use it. If your going to use Boxing then use Boxing. I did not see either WC or Boxing.

There is no REAL secrets in Wing Chun, but because the forms are conceptual you have to know how to decipher the information..That's the secret..

the secret of wing chun is the double small knife. chain punching with a knife in each hand was the bread and butter of southern chinese gangsters.

I don't know I think he is kind of onto something.

For a title that says "wing chun boxing" I kind of didn't see either in that clip. A little slap fighting and a little clinching to a corner.
Why does it have to be either or? If you have cross trained both WC and boxing, when you need to knock your opponent down, will you use your
- WC punch,
- boxing punch, or just
- your punch?
How many of your WC guys have cross trained other systems?

More opinion -> more argument
Less opinion -> less argument
No opinion -> no argument
I've cross trained, pertinently in Western Boxing and WC to me is more an approach to combat rather than a definitive set of technique.
That being said Western Boxing mechanics are quite different having evolved in a different environment and for a different purpose at least in the last hundred years or so.
What I took from the vid was the benefit of training WC against Western Boxing and using a Western Boxing training methodology rather than mixing styles per se.
Dave
Its a start and training WC against boxing is a step in the right direction IMO
Why not indeed, I don't want it to appear from my previous post that I'm against mixing things up if one has the the requisite skill to pull it off.
The if is the point, is it better to be a specialist of a generalist for combat?
Isn't there a Chinese phrase that says something like "one power (jin) equals 10 techniques"?.
