Actually, western boxing influenced TCMA a lot . In early republican period there was a lot of interest for boxing , Chinese army adopdet western boxing as a part of the training because they realized that boxing can prepapre people to fight in a reasonable amount time , much shorter than traditional styles. At the time western boxing was studied by many prominent masters and fighters and became one of the foundation arts in what we know today as "Sanda ". Did TCMA influenced boxing on the west i really do not know but I think not

With 3 years training, you should have enough life time material to train for the rest of your life. The collage education only require 4 years. Have you read all the books that you need to read in those 4 years? No. Will you have the ability to read any book that you want after those 4 years? Yes.

Your teacher can only help you to step into the door. The rest of training will be up to you.
