Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Barbarian is returning to the big screen in his original incarnation for Legend of Conan, and the film’s producer, Chris Morgan, has given an update on what viewers can expect in Conan’s latest tale.

Morgan, who wrote Furious 7, told TheArnoldFans.com that The Legend of Conan will be a “a logical extension of the character established in the ’82 film … but 30 years later,” with a vibe that evokes Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven.

Morgan elaborated that their goal with Legend is “to live up to [director John Milius’] world. To make it worthy. And to expand on it in a truthful way that audiences will embrace.” He also promised that at least three characters would be returning from previous films.

Speaking recently with EW, Schwarzenegger himself said he was waiting for final rewrites on the film, but that “it’s unbelievably well written. They’re still tweaking the end but it’s going to be very, very powerful.”

Schwarzenegger also said current plan is to begin shooting in the fall, a sentiment producer Fredrik Malmberg shared with TheArnoldFans.com.
