In response to Steve and Matt''s questions from the video thread.

Gong Li Quan was taught in some national martial art schools before WW2. For this reason it shows up in several non-Gong Li Quan styles.

Gong Li Quan is a style in its own right containing several forms, with the most famous one being called Gong Li Quan.
Shi Zhengzhong learned from Zhao Zhuxi in the early 90's and one of the things that he learned was Gong Li Quan.
He thought that it would be nice to teach to beginners back in his own school.
But, in preparing the Gong Li Quan for his students he must have realized that he doesn't have much need for an easy form as most people had already trained for so many years. So, he changed around a few details and made it more to his liking before teaching it.

For this wishing to find out more of Gong Li Quan, when China did their national martial art survey of the nation they managed to video several old masters performing forms from the style. It is probably on youtube now. Maybe someone can dig it up and post it.
Funny thing, I don't think the national survey of old masters actually included the most common of the gong li quan forms.

Maybe it is similar to how most schools of mantis do not teach or know the national mantis wushu form.

Hopefully this answers the questions
