Arrow Yang Style Taiji Point Striking

Point striking in this thread is in reference to striking nerve points on an opponents limbs to cause temporary paralysis. *Not a thread about Dim Mak targeting for maximum damage/death, although I will post anything Taiji that is off the beaten path that may be of interest. My own interest in this subject matter is not in training/learning the art of Yang Style Taiji but in having been on the receiving end of the practice.

This thread is actually not about using excessive force. Hitting a vital area with maximum force is usually a killing technique.

During sparring with a Yang Taiji instructor (in my late twenties) I would be repeatably kicked by a sweep kick that I never did actually see executed upon attack. It would always thump me right in the chest even though I was a good bit taller. This is the kick shown with perfect form by Chen Taiji Master: ( at 13:00 and 15:56 in video). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzIqq5wj7cc

Showing this kick for a second time at 15:56 in the video, he turns on the ball of his foot to continue into the ending of the form set. This is very White Crane-like in balance strategy and use of momentum/pivoting.
