    Breaking the Bridge

    This video show's how to break or control the opponents strong bridge or iron bridge. i show how technique is needed not force to overcome a strong bridge.

    There is no REAL secrets in Wing Chun, but because the forms are conceptual you have to know how to decipher the information..That's the secret..

    Was the audio off by a sec or two? I think there was a delay.

    Right around 2:50 or so you go on to say that "the Grab" could be used in Chi Sao. Oh boy...better not open up that can of worms. Although I agree with you on that.

    So basically, your method is to give him some pressure or resistance and when you feel him resisting VS your pressure...you grab and strike?

    If that's at the heart of what you're saying I won't disagree that can work...but it's pretty common. I even learned that in Judo as a kid only It was moreso for throwing.


    I gotta say though...I don't really feel that was a good representation of an iron bridge.

    Yeah, I noticed that myself about the delay in the audio. I'm not sure what happened. Giving pressure is only have of it. The other half is working against the joint at it's weak point so you can manipulate it.
