Good video. It showed that one can defense against judo throws by lowering his own C.G. and grab close to his opponent. And near the end of the video clip, the Tai Chi fellow could launch counter-attack by pushing his opponent forward, thus make him falls to the floor.

    Sifu Ron,

Yep, you can say so. What happened in the video shown was possible because the Tai Chi fellow has no less strength and probably no less body weight than the Judo fellow.

    Nice Grounding

Nice Grounding. Would have been interesting to see "Needle at Sea Bottom" applied at the stop point. - KF

The Taiji guy didn't do anything. In Chinese wrestling, people respect those who play offense and lose than those who play defense and win. The reason is simple. The person who tries to attack, he will have MA future. The person who only play defense will have no future.

In Chinese wrestling rules, that Taiji guy would be dis-qualified for "not willing to fight" in the first 30 second.

When 2 Taiji guys fight against each other, A will wait for B to attack. B will also wait for A to attack. They both will end up with starving to death.

He would have also been penalized under judo rules for not engaging, not to mention judo is a jacket wrestling style and he wasn't wearing one.
