Previsto para estrear em novembro de 2016, o filme “O Shaolin do Sertão”, do diretor cearense Halder Gomes, entra na última semana de filmagens, em Fortaleza. Antes, o elenco gravou em Quixadá e Quixeramobim, no sertão central cearense. O longa-metragem, ambientado no início dos anos 1980, conta a história de Aluízio Lee, um aficionado por artes marciais que vive com a cabeça no mundo das lutas de tanto sonhar e assistir a filmes de artes marciais chinesas.
Aluízio acredita ser um Shaolin e se veste como tal, sendo o motivo de chacotas em sua cidade natal, Quixadá. Seu mundo de fantasias é posto em risco quando "Toni Tora Pleura", um lutador aposentado de vale-tudo, interpretado por Fábio Goulart, anuncia um "tour" de desafios por várias cidades do interior do Ceará, inclusive, Quixadá. “Sempre tive vontade de retratar esse universo das artes marciais e como essa paixão pelo gênero influenciou o dia-a-dia de algumas pessoas em cidades do interior”, conta o diretor Halder Gomes.
“Durante a década de 80, lutadores de vale-tudo passavam por dificuldades devido à falta de lutas profissionais. A fim de manter a paixão pela luta, eles desafiam os valentões no interior do Ceará que aceitam participar da competição criada”, explica o Gomes, que dirigiu outro grande sucesso, o filme “Cine Holliúdy”. “É um filme muito lindo e divertido. “A preparação do elenco foi bem demorada por causa das especificidades da produção. O Edmilson Filho [que faz o Shaolin] perdeu 10 quilos com o treinamento, enquanto o lutador Toni Tora Pleura ganhou 15 de músculos”, conta Gomes. Fábio Goulart foi o primeiro brasileiro a conquistar o ouro em Taekwondo nos Jogos Panamericanos de Havana, em 1991.

“O Shaolin do Sertão é um marco na produção cinematográfica em nosso estado, pois pela primeira vez teremos um filme produzido no Ceará como consequência do sucesso comercial de uma produção local (Cine Holliúdy), o que estabelece um passo importante para o surgimento de um polo cinematográfico consolidado pela demanda do público”, ressalta Halder Gomes.
Na trilha sonora, há intepretações de ***ner, Marcos Lessa e da banda cearense Leite de Rosas e os Alfazemas. O filme é produzido pela Globo Filmes, Telecine e Paramount Pictures, com distribuição da Downtown Filmes, além de dinheiro estatal do Fundo Setorial do Audiovisual.
