    Deadpool 2

    I totally support this.

Shang-Chi: Master Of Kung Fu Is The Perfect Story For 'Deadpool 2' (With Bonus Hitler Kills)
By Jack Carr ⋅ Posted on February 24th, 2016 at 11:26pm

Deadpool may have killed the Marvel universe, but there's one man who's yet to die at his sword, and his name is Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu.

It doesn't take a genius to work out where Shang-chi's talents lie, and a prior hook-up with Deadpool (not that kind of hook-up) makes him a great candidate for a supporting role in Deadpool 2.

If you're not a religious reader of Marvel's one-shot comics, you may have missed Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu #1. The 48-page issue from 2009 is entirely black and white, and includes four vignette stories, the first of which features our friendly neighborhood Deadpool.

For the uninitiated, Shang-Chi is the Marvel martial artist who isn't Iron Fist. He has no superpowers whatsoever, but does sport an incredible response time that allows him to dodge bullets, while being the world's greatest living practitioner of kung fu. He's just a little bit awesome.

In the first of the four vignettes, Deadpool and Shang-chi are competing together in a cross-country motorcycle death race. Among their competitors are the Hitler Twins, who are exactly what they sound like...

The whole vignette is illustrated in black and white, in a style that reminds me of Sin City and the flashbacks in Kill Bill. Obviously I'm not suggesting there's enough material in this wacky drag race to sustain a whole movie, but as an intro or pre-credits sequence with no bearing on the main plot of the film, I would die for a Deadpool and Shang-Chi team-up.

The film's R-rating would also allow a lot of blood to be spilled in classic, pulpy martial arts style. Of course, it would be even more epic if Blade made a cameo (as played by Wesley Snipes — anyone else can suck it), but Marvel is clutching onto his rights like a newborn baby in his mother's bosom. Allow me to dream.

To summarize: If you want to see Deadpool kill Hitler, not once but twice, you should campaign with me for the Master of Kung Fu to get his Deadpool 2 on.

In case you've spent the last two weeks getting tortured by Ajax without wifi, Deadpool 2 is already confirmed to feature Cable. Unfortunately, he won't be played by Keira Knightley, but whatever. The movie is being directed again by Tim Miller and should release sometime in 2018.

Sequel is green lit (but with that box office return, we knew that)

I just copied the post above off the original Deadpool thread.

Deadpool Sequel Brings Back the Entire Creative Team
BY SPENCER PERRY ON APRIL 14, 2016

Straight from their presentation at CinemaCon, 20th Century Fox has confirmed that the Deadpool sequel is a go and that the entire creative team behind the first film will return. This includes star Ryan Reynolds, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and director Tim Miller. No official release date was given for the Deadpool sequel.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Ryan Reynolds stars as the title character alongside T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, voiced by Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic.

Deadpool is currently the highest grossing film at the domestic box office for 2016, and is the highest grossing R-rated and highest grossing X-Men film of all time. The film will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on May 10
Deadpool Creative Team Open to Spider-Man Crossover
BY SABINA IBARRA ON APRIL 13, 2016

If there is going to be a team-up fans will want to see, it’s going to be this one.

Spider-Man is set to swing back into action in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Early reception around Tom Holland’s performance indicates that he and the web-slinger will soon be very in demand. The young actor’s stellar performance as Spidey in all of his wise-cracking glory will immediately bring to mind the possibilities of who he could interact with.

    Namely his biggest team-up buddy.

During the press day for Fox’s Deadpool Blu-ray release, director Tim Miller and producer Simon Kinberg talked about possibly getting Spider-Man to meet his biggest fan: Deadpool. Miller shared, “Simon and I have been trying to build bridges.”

With all of the deals that have recently started happening, we asked if they could get visitation rights to Sony‘s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Kinberg laughed, “I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.”

If any guy could vouch this working, it’s Kinberg, who’s produced for both Fox (X-Men) and Disney (Star Wars Rebels). He’s the one who got Fox to take a chance on the long-gestating Deadpool film, which finally paid off and it’s now the highest-grossing R-rated movie. However, at this point in time, Kinberg officially states, “I just don’t know if it would be possible.”

So if the buddy comedy superhero genre starts with Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok, which puts Thor and Hulk on a road-trip through the galaxy, then “When Deadpool met Spider-Man” could follow at some point, right? The relationship between Deadpool and Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s most popular. Their comic arcs together are a huge hit with fans. Go on Tumblr and in most Deadpool tag threads, you’ll find Pool crushing hard over Spidey while they take out bad guys with their signature snark. Their on-screen counterparts Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland are perfectly cast for their smart-aleck antics. And if Deadpool’s affections get toned down for the films, Reynolds could at least crack a jailbait joke for Holland’s high school Spidey.

After Sony struck a deal with Disney to share him in Civil War, the studio is poised to see quite the return and will ideally be willing to loan him out more often. Miller lit up at the possibilities they’re entertaining, including the stuff they’re keeping hush for Deadpool 2. “My favorite comic books in the old days used to be like DC vs. Marvel, Teen Titans vs. the X-Men or Teen Titans vs. New Mutants. Justice League vs. the Avengers. This could be something like that,” he added optimistically.

With the Deadpool team being open to the concept and Sony willing to share custody of Peter Parker, we could very well see a future where Wolverine has to deal with both of their sass, or maybe more characters. Kingberg even told CraveOnline they are open to the idea of crossing over the X-Men franchise with Marvel’s The Avengers as well!

    Deadpool 2

This really tells us nothing we didn't already know.

Deadpool 2 production eyes an early 2017 start

Deadpool 2 is a no-brainer: The first film grossed more than $778.6 million worldwide, breaking a number of box office records in the process. Ryan Reynolds will return as the title character with director Tim Miller for the sequel, which producer Simon Kinberg says is looking to kick off production early next year.

“The guys, [original screenwriters Paul] Wernick and Rhett [Reese], are working on the script, and we hope to have the script very soon,” Kinberg told Collider during an interview before the Saturn Awards. Though he couldn’t say much about the timeline for Deadpool 2, he added, “We hope to shoot the movie some time at the beginning of next year.”

Deadpool reintroduced the Merc with a Mouth in a new R-rated setting after his X-Men Origins: Wolverine appearance. Reynolds starred opposite T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand in the film, which debuted this past February.

Plot details for the next chapter are still under wraps, but the first film’s post-credits scene announced comic book character Cable. Now, actors ranging from Dolph Lundgren to Avatar’s Stephen Lang are vying for the role on social media.

Deadpool 2 currently doesn’t have an official release date, though Fox staked out a couple release dates for yet-to-be-announced films.

EXCLUSIVE: Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna has been cast in Fox/Marvel’s upcoming sequel Deadpool 2, which will see the return of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth. The studio isn’t offering any details on who Kutsuma is playing, other than it’s a key role. David Leitch is at the helm on the film, slated to hit theaters June 1, 2018.

Kutsuna joins previously announced newcomers Josh Brolin who will play Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Jack Kesy, as well as returnees Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapacic (Colossus) and Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead). The first film made waves at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film worldwide with a cume of $783M.

Kutsuna’s recent projects include the indie film Oh Lucy!, opposite Josh Hartnett, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and she co-stars with Jared Leto in the crime thriller The Outsider, which follows a U.S. army deserter (Leto) who joins the Yakuza while living in post-world War II Japan. Kutsuna is repped by McKeon/Myones Entertainment and attorney Mark Stankevich in the U.S., and Oscar Promotion in Japan.
And Gina? Anyone know if Gina is in?

    Joi “SJ” Harris

Always tragic to hear of the death of a stunt person.

'Deadpool 2’ Stunt Crash Victim ID’d As First African-American Female Pro Road Racer; Director & Fox “Deeply Saddened” – Update
by Dominic Patten and David Robb and Anita Busch
    August 14, 2017 4:05pm

    20th Century Fox

WRITETHRU, 4:50 PM: A rookie stuntwoman who was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Vancouver set of Deadpool 2 has been identified as the first African-American female professional road racer. Joi “SJ” Harris was doing her first film as a stunt performer, Deadline has learned. A spokesman for ACTRA confirmed her identity to Deadline, though she is not a member of the Canadian actors union.

    Joi Harris via Facebook

Production on the superhero sequel was shut down immediately after the fatality, and there’s no word on when filming will resume. It’s the second on-set death in North America in a month; John Bernecker suffered massive head injuries in a fall July 12 on the set of The Walking Dead and died shortly afterward.

Details still are coming in, but witnesses said the crew was filming a stunt sequence when Harris lost control of her motorcycle and crashed through a plate-glass window at Shaw Tower on West Waterfront Road near Jack Poole Plaza. The stuntwoman was playing the Domino character in the sequence in the Ryan Reynolds superhero sequel. Actress Zazie Beetz is playing Domino in Deadpool 2. Reynolds tweeted a photo of Beetz in character two weeks ago.

A source close to the situation said Harris, who was an experienced road racer, had been rehearsing the stunt all day Saturday. A studio production source said that there were “two full days of rehearsals over the weekend, and on Monday, they ran the stunt five-plus times before filming.”

An eyewitness told Deadline that, on the last take, the bike seemed to accelerate when it was supposed to slow as she took the corner. Harris was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred today because the Domino character did not wear one in the scene.

Deadline has been told that the crew is enduring very long hours — that includes weekends — and that workers feel like they are being run ragged. “People are exhausted by the schedule,” one crew member told Deadline, noting that they were working multiple 16-hour days in a row. That, however, is disputed by a studio production source, who said the daily shooting schedule on the Vancouver set is 12-13 hours, and there were only two 15-plus-hour days, about three weeks ago.

Reynolds said he was “devastated” by Harris’ death. Producer Simon Kinberg had no comment when contacted by Deadline.

David Leitch, director of Deadpool 2 said in a statement to Deadline: “I’m deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today. No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones in this difficult time.” A 20th Century Fox spokesman told Deadline: “We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”

    Joi Harris via Facebook

According to her online bio, Harris began motorcycle riding in Brooklyn and in 2013 — after logging more than 1,500 training hours — became the first African American woman licensed to actively compete in American Motorcyclist Association races. An injury from an on-track crash while training for her first race forced Harris to wait until 2014 to begin competing in the American Sportbike Racing Association/Championship Cup Series. Since then she had been an outspoken advocate for female racing.

“I’ve learned to accept that I am not the greatest rider that exists and that there is always something to learn when on track and pushing limits,” she said on her website. “Sometimes I’m going to eat it if I’m impatient. Everything takes time. Face your fears — you never know what you can be missing out on.”

The Vancouver Police Department confirmed the death on social media this morning. Law enforcement in Reynolds’ hometown said they are investigating the incident along with the BC Coroner’s Service and WorkSafeBC, British Columbia’s version of the U.S.’ Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

“We have five officers on site and two are looking at immediate occupational safety and health issues to make sure the site is safe,” Trish Knight Chernecki, senior manager for WorkSafeBC, told Deadline. “The other three officers on site are investigating the cause of the incident and the prevention of future incidents.”

Andy Watson, a spokesman for the BC Coroner’s Service, told Deadline: “We have opened an investigation,” said its spokesman, “Anytime there is a fatality in the province we investigate. We have a mandate to prevent future deaths and to make any recommendations that could come from our findings.”

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson said the city will continue to support the filming there when the crew recovers from the emotional trauma. “We are extremely saddened to hear of the tragic incident that took the life of a stuntwoman working on the set of Deadpool 2 downtown earlier today,” he said in a statement. “Our condolences go out to her family and friends, and to all those working on set who have been impacted by the loss of their colleague. We will continue to support the crew and production as they work to recover emotionally and as they continue their next phase of filming.”

As previously mentioned, today’s accident marks the second stunt-related on-set death in North America in about a month; stuntman John Bernecker suffered massive head injuries in a fall July 12 on the set of The Walking Dead and later died at Atlanta Medical Center. That was believed to be the first stunt-related death in the United States in more than 17 years.

The veteran stuntman was doing a fight scene for the zombie apocalypse drama with actor Austin Amelio on a balcony when he fell about 30 feet to a concrete floor, just missing the safety pad and landing on his head and neck.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and SAG-AFTRA opened investigations into Bernecker’s death. Mike D’Aquino, a spokesman for the regional OSHA office in Atlanta, said that the investigation could take up to six months to complete. The Coweta County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Department have ruled the death an accident and closed their respective cases into the matter.

AMC temporarily halted production on Season 8 of the zombie apocalypse series in the wake of the accident.

    Fox errors with Joi Harris

Fox Safety Errors Contributed to Fatal ‘Deadpool’ Crash, Report Finds

Twentieth Century Fox committed several safety errors that contributed to the fatal motorcycle crash on the set of “Deadpool 2,” according to a British Columbia workplace safety investigation.

Joi Harris, a stunt rider, was killed on Aug. 14, 2017, when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into the side of a building in downtown Vancouver.

Investigators from WorkSafe B.C. allege that the studio made a long list of errors, including failing to assess the risks of the stunt, failing to allow her to wear a helmet, and failing to set up barriers that would have kept her motorcycle inside the film set.

The agency said it is now considering what penalty should be assessed.

In a statement, a Fox spokesperson took issue with the report, and said that the studio had stepped up its safety measures in the wake of Harris’ death.

“Safety is our top priority, and while we respectfully disagree with some of the report’s findings, Fox thoroughly reviewed its stunt safety protocols immediately following the tragic accident and has revised and implemented enhanced safety procedures and enforcement,” the spokesperson said.

Michael Buckley, an attorney representing Harris’ family, confirmed in April that the family had settled all claims against the studio. “The folks at 21st Century Fox were very professional and responsible in the manner in which they addressed our client’s claim,” Buckley said at the time.

Harris had experience as a motorcycle track racer, but had not done film stunts before. The accident report alleges that Fox failed to give her a new worker orientation, which would have covered safety measures such as wearing a helmet.

According to the report, several other stunt performers saw Harris’ “stabbing” or “grabbing” at the motorcycles brakes during rehearsals, causing the bike to skid unsafely. An additional ramp was added to give her more room to brake safely, before the fatal stunt occurred.

The report cites a regulation that mandated that riders wear helmets. Following the crash, all stunt performers wore helmets during motorcycle shots.

    Deadpool 3?

Deadpool 3 Is In Development at Disney, Ryan Reynolds Announces
by L.D. Nolan – on Dec 27, 2019 in Movies, Movie News

Deadpool 3 is in the works at Marvel Studios.

During an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Reynolds was asked about a potential third film. "Yeah we're working on it right now with the whole team," Reynolds replied. "We're over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It's kinda crazy. So yeah, we're working on it."

Reynolds two Deadpool films are among the highest-grossing R-rated films ever made. The first movie made over $782 million worldwide at the box office and currently holds am 85% among critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The sequel, released in 2018, earned $785 million and has an 84% on the aforementioned review aggregator.

The future of Reynolds' Deadpool film was left in doubt after Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which saw the former regaining the rights to many of Marvel's most popular heroes, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four. However, this announcement leaves unclear just what Deadpool's future at Disney and with the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be. Disney CEO Bob Iger previously indicated Deadpool's films could remain R-rated at Disney. There's no indication at this time what the merger might mean for the X-Force film that was in the works prior to the acquisition.

No potential release date was given or Reynolds Deadpool 3 with Disney.
Not going to split this into its own indie thread just yet. Still waiting on more confirmation.
