    Kung fu Family question......

    Greetings,

How do you address someone who trained under your kung fu Uncle. Is it still brother/sister in Chinese culture?

    Hi

Yes it is brother/sister I believe. But terms can be regional, so I can only talk for Shandong and Shanghai, other places may be different.

    si-jat = cousin male
    si jat-lui = cousin female

    Si pak = senior uncle
    Si sook = junior uncle

These are Cantonese terms for filial designations within Kung Fu families.
Kung Fu is good for you.

    No worries.

The structure is very much along the lines of any family tree.
There's terms for everyone and a place at the figurative table for everyone.
Kung Fu is good for you.
