San Ti Shi (Sensations!) Can anyone advise!!!!

    Hi Guys,

I have been practising San Ti Shi from the Xing Yi Quan.

I have been experiencing a sort of pins & needles feeling in my lower dan tian. I wouldn't say that it is a sharp kind of pins & needles but more like a stimulation feeling.

Also it feels like I have a lead ball in my lower dan tian!

Can any of you advise whether this is the feeling / sensation that I should be getting when practising San Ti Shi.

As far as I'm aware, the sensations are the result of the Qi cultivation!

Can someone confirm or clarify what is happening?

    Many thanks

I would suggest that it would be healthier for you to first balance all the meridians and "clear the sludge", so to speak, before you attempt to cultivate and store additional qi. More isn't always better, if you have an imbalance.

    I agree with Chris.

Clear up the meridians, and quiet the mind. If you have an imbalance, and try to cultivate Chi, then it can be bad for your health.

I also recommend you to do some light stretching excercises, combined with breathing and clear your mind before practicing San Ti Shi.

In agreement also. Let the body settle, i.e. if you get a feeling, go with it. If your body wants to move let it. You need to settle your structure first.
