    MMA Sucks or What is the best style of self defense...

    I`m reading about Steroids in the fight game history with Bones Jones in the headlines wiki mentioned he got in trouble using a 12 to 6 elbow in an earlier fight so reading the rules I was left in disbelief, lol.

    Soccer kicks, groin shots eye rakes and 12 to 6 elbow is like the basic moves in kajukenbo they throw them like jabs along with the basic generic USA kick boxing combos of the 70`s.

    Light Heavyweight (men) – between 185 and 205 lb (83.9 and 93.0 kg)
    Heavyweight (men) – between 205 and 265 lb (93.0 and 120.2 kg)
    Super Heavyweight (men) - With no upper weight limit

    They don`t let 180 pounders kick box 205 pounders so how is MMA for lightweights 150 pounds vs a heavyweight 220 pounds a good school for self defense?.


    Like Jon Jones born 1988 first fight won 2008 so say age 10 he gets Karate white belt then age 17 gets his first black belt and does 3 years BJJ with general weightlifting in High School. So he is 6 foot 2 fights at 205. One thing that ****es me off about his media marketing is he has my build like I`m too tall putting on weight is very hard unless I want to eat like a body builder which sucks trying to do kicks ****ting your self all day lol. anyway Jones isn`t that good he is always 2 inches taller and longer reach than the fighters he knocks out...he should fight Stipe without steroids, but that`s for the MMA forum.


    So the above is your average good Karate school 10 years for first degree black belt 3 years ground game and weight lifting. But looking at Jones with Steroids replace Karate with Boxing and Muay Thai the techniques don`t matter it`s the hard sparring which steroids helps you to recover from faster and its about explosive athleticism backing up whatever styles you do strikes.

    Steroids makes the 10 year karate black belt with Wrestling experience to go from running a local karate fitness Dojo doing a 200 pound bench press to lifting 300 pounds in 3 months turning his school into an international combat gym.

    Like Hulk Hogan was 6 foot 6 240 pounds amature pro wrestler after steroids he went up to 300 pounds and became worth millions.

    Muay Thai, Boxing, Soviet Judo lol MMA etc any popular need to be tough sport has gone through the steroids were legal 1970s phase so their schools have famous athletes on TV promoting self defense.

    How can an average Karate or Kung Fu type school with old school training compete with drugged up sports monsters from the 80`s. Like give Wing Chun 200 steroids fighters and in 10 years Wing Chun will achieve total pop and enter the Olympics.

    Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent
    Stomping an opponent on the ground
    Swearing or offensive language in the cage
    Any unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to opponent
    Attacking an opponent during a break
    Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee
    Timidity (avoiding contact, consistent dropping of mouthpiece, or faking an injury)
    Interference from a mixed martial artist's cornerman
    Flagrant disregard of the referee’s instructions
    Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his or her head or neck (see Piledriver)
    Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat

    lol it`s a great debate I mean it really started with Royce Gracie founding UFC by being dominant in BJJ but now he is banned from UFC for steroids and grapplers get punched out all the time.

    Like I have friends who did a bit of Muay Thai and then they feel tough but they haven`t even tried it against a pro Thai boxer who keeps kicking them in the nuts.

    It would be nice to see how mma combos would work if only in shadow boxing if you take the illegal shots into play.. there would be less rushing forward with kickbox combos and going for take downs if you have to guard your eyes, throat, groin, ears and back of spine, hair etc instead of only having to guard your chin and stomach..most mma fights would end in under a minute if cheap shots came into play
