    Kung fu blocks

    Hello to everyone, I don't know if this the right section. I have gotsome question for you.
    1-Are there on traditional kung fu blocks with forearm, similitaries the japanese karate taeknondo ecc

    One of the most important principles I have learned is that you should have a good handle on Timing and Spacing. Then you use footwork and body movement to avoid attacks. This way if your "blocks" miss then you still wont get hit, or the hitting force will be reduced.

    Actually the kung fu I practice rarely uses direct "blocks" if you define block as using your arm or leg to absorb the impact directly, force on force. Instead we use threading, leaning, and sweeping maneuvers to redirect force.
