this guy
just spent the last half hour with tears in my eyes watching a short bio on Netflix called "Zion" about this kid
http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/sto...er-zion-shaver
those that know me, know that i fell in to a season of coaching jr. high wrestling as an 18 year old fresh out of high school...geez, the mistakes I made.
one of the proudest periods of my life was taking that team from a 0-10 record over the previous 2 years to a 3-7 conference record that year.
but, there is no doubt the proudest moment was coaching an 8th grader as he agreed to an exhibition match against another wrestler who had no legs.
Props to Zion for not giving up and everyone else in his game for honoring him by stepping in to that 22' circle with him.
"George never did wake up. And, even all that talking didn't make death any easier...at least not for us. Maybe, in the end, all you can really hope for is that your last thought is a nice one...even if it's just about the taste of a nice cold beer."
"If you find the right balance between desperation and fear you can make people believe anything"
"Is enlightenment even possible? Or, did I drive by it like a missed exit?"
It's simpler than you think.
I could be completely wrong"
