I was on the metro earlier, deep in meditation, when a ruffian came over and started causing trouble. He started pushing me with his bag, steadily increasing the force until it became very annoying. When I turned to him, before I could ask him to stop, he immediately started hurling abuse like a scoundrel. I performed a basic chin na - carotid artery strike combination and sent him to sleep. The rest of my journey was very peaceful, and passersby hailed me as a hero - Warrior Man

Ding Hao should give it a rest

I just copied some posts from our Xu Xiaodong Challenges to Kung Fu to a new thread - Wing Chun 'Master' Ding Hao - because the ol' WC subforum needs some luv...

Wing chun ‘master’ Ding Hao challenges Xu Xiaodong to rematch – ‘he is afraid of my punches’
‘You’re lucky I didn’t KO you last time,’ says Ding Hao, who was obliterated in minutes by the Chinese MMA fighter a year ago
Ding also wants to fight one-armed boxer who delivered humiliating defeat to his ‘injured’ coach

Those of you who have been following Chinese MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong’s mission to expose “fake kung fu” over the last couple of years may remember one of the beat downs he administered in particular.
In 2018, “Mad Dog” smashed Ding Hao – who bills himself as one of the “four great wing chun masters in China” – in a fight that went viral on Chinese social media.
It was an emphatic defeat for Ding, but now he has called out Xu for a rematch.
“Xu Xiaodong, do you still remember my fist?” he said in a video translated by Fight Commentary Breakdowns. “You’re lucky I didn’t KO you last time.”

“I’m going to defeat you publicly and KO you,” he added. “If you’re afraid of failure, then admit defeat.”
Ding seems to remember things a bit differently from reality. He was spared an immediate humiliation by the Sanshou rule set used for the fight, which barred Xu from delivering ground and pound when he knocked him down. But the referee waived it off the fourth time Ding was planted on his backside.

Still, that hasn’t stopped his bravado in challenging the 41-year-old Xu, who runs an MMA gym in Beijing and is on a mission to expose traditional martial arts “frauds”.
“Don’t send your students. You didn’t teach any of them,” Ding said. “You recruited them from competitions.”
“Xu, if you are a man, accept my rematch. Don’t lose to my punches again and say I sucker punched [you].”

Ding also called out one-armed Chinese boxer Xiong Chengcheng, who humiliated his shifu (coach) Yu Changhu – an Ip Man lineage wing chun master – at the same event in 2018.
“Xiong Chengcheng, you’re a wing chun failure,” Ding said. “You defeated my teacher because my teacher had an injury and the ref helped you.
“Even Xu is afraid of my fast punches. It’ll be like hitting a kid, so hide.”
Yu also made excuses for that fight, where he was dropped twice, giving an interview to Chinese media claiming the fight was rigged and that he wasn’t provided with enough lunch before the 8pm fight.
“We finished the food, we asked the server, ‘Is there any more?’ They said no, just this. We said, ‘OK, can you give us some rice at least?’ We didn’t feel full.”
Yu said that Ding has a really big appetite and eats three bows of rice. “You have to have entrees,” Yu added. “You can’t just give us soup, it’s not enough.”

Yu said after they finished eating, they had to go to the supermarket to buy snacks because they weren’t full.
“I can’t say that it didn’t have an effect,” he said. “We didn’t eat the crackers we bought. I think I ate one chocolate.”
Wait...a one-armed Xiong beat his master Yu? Did we miss that story?

    srsly?

Xu Xiaodong only beat me because I’m vegetarian, says wing chun ‘master’ who compares himself to Bruce Lee
Lu Gang blames his diet for getting pulverised in less than a minute by Chinese MMA fighter
Pressure point master says he was ‘too skinny’ to fight as he only eats 20 meals per month

There seems to be something about food when it comes to martial arts frauds making excuses for the crushing defeats they are dealt by Chinese MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong.
Wing chun practitioner Ding Hao only got pulverised by Xu last year because he was hungry and wasn’t given enough rice before the fight, according to his shifu (or coach).
Now wing chun dim mak (pressure point) “master” Lu Gang is blaming his vegetarianism for getting obliterated by “Mad Dog” in less than a minute last month.
Never mind that Lu was knocked down three times and had his nose broken before the referee mercilessly intervened – it was just his constant fasting that threw off his game.

In a new posting on Chinese social media, Lu said he only eats around 20 meals per month – and because he is vegetarian he is chronically malnourished.
“I’m too skinny, I didn’t have enough mass to fight Xu,” Lu is quoted as saying in a translation by Jerry Liu of YouTube channel Fight Commentary Breakdowns.
Xu weighed around 100lbs (45 kilograms) more than Lu for the fight. But before the bout, Lu had said his wing chun techniques would be too much for Xu to handle, and that he could punch harder and faster than the 41-year-old.
“My speed is quicker,” Lu had said. He also claimed he was much more skilled and flexible than his opponent – and had even likened his skills to Bruce Lee.
“My dim mak has become completely part of me,” he said. “It’s like lightning speed, it’ll just come out. Just like Bruce Lee’s jeet kune do. A lot of times my dim mak, I don’t even know what I’m going to throw.”

Xu Xiaodong’s hand is raised after beating Lu Gang – and breaking his nose.

YouTube commenters didn’t have much sympathy for Lu after his latest excuse, though, and many poked fun at him.
“I think this wing chun ‘master’ is a good example that ‘you are what you eat’ because at this point it’s obvious this guy is a vegetable,” one user wrote.
“Vegetarians, hell even vegans can put weight on,” said another. “I think the reason he lost is because HE CAN’T FIGHT.”
“The Wing Chun master just needed to eat some chicken fried rice and he would have been okay,” joked another user.

Wow! What a clown...are these fights staged? and who are these guys? so called Masters....!? I know local guys who would eat this fat boy for breakfeast that wouldn't consider themselves "Masters"...several styles including Wing Chun. This looks like a smear campaign on the traditional arts....

Well with this video its sad because we can clearly see the WC guy is probably never really done any sparring with anyone probably not even WC.
To be effective with wing chun you must spar outside your kwoon, I mean spar it can be light sparring it doesnt have to go hard. But you need to get use to others throwing kicks and punches at you, the angles they use, the movements they use, their footwork and how they defend to over come and counter. Also fighting other styles allows you to see what weaknesses their game may have if their a purist. It also allows you adopt things from their style that works nicely with your wing chun such has chin na, joint locks, throws and so on. To be a well rounded fighter you first have to fight.
The Flow is relentless like a raging ocean with crashing waves devasting anything in its path.

"Kick Like Thunder, Strike Like Lighting, Fist Hard as Stones."

"Wing Chun flows around overwhelming force and finds openings with its constant flow of forward energy."

"Always Attack, Be Aggressive always Attack first, Be Relentless. Continue with out ceasing. Flow Like Water, Move like the wind, Attack Like Fire. Consume and overwhelm your Adversary until he is No More"

I said it before. I'll say it again...

...Ding Hao should give it a rest

Kick-boxer fights a Chinese kung fu specialist during special tour in China
    By Adam Stephens 15:40 22/10/19

A Chinese kung fu specialist named Ding Hao was knocked out last weekend in the first round by kick-boxer Chen Jinyun, otherwise known as ‘The Tiger’, in a packed arena in the Chinese city of Jiangmen.

The 29-year-old martial artist claimed to be a decedent of Ip Man, a master of Wing Chun and a mentor of the late Hollywood star Bruce Lee.

This fight demonstrated, however, that Ding was clearly out of his element, taking a number of heavy blows including being grabbed by the head and being kneed repeatedly.

Although Ding attempted to mount some form of offence, it was The Tiger who made contact continuously with sidekicks before swiftly concluding matters with a fly kick that knocked out the martial artist.

Their match was part of the Chongwu Hero World Kick-Boxing City Tour and proved to be the second loss Ding had suffered in less than two years against an MMA (Mixed Martial Artist).

In March last year, Ding lost to MMA fighter and coach Xu Xiaodong, who beat him to the ground six times in a three-minute round contest.

There have been claims following Ding’s latest fight that he is a ‘fraud and not the kung fu master that he claims to be’, however, Ding’s master Yu Changhua brushed these aside.

"Ding Hao is a top fighter in our centre and has been practising kung fu for more than 10 years.

"He will not be frustrated by the loss of just one game. Instead, he will ponder on the reasons of the failure and prepare for future games even better."

His opponent also subsequently defended Ding following the fight, saying: "I had spent more than one month preparing for the fight. It was a challenge for me too.

"Before the game I was confident to win. But once the game started and I engaged with Wing Chun Master Ding, I could feel how strong he was."

The kick-boxer said Ding could have won if he had had more experience in live combat.

    A Hu

Chinese MMA fighter knocks out two kung fu ‘masters’ in one night, in 72 seconds each
‘A Hu’ went viral for knocking out wing chun ‘master’ Ding Hao in spectacular style last weekend
New video unearthed from Chinese social media reveals he also obliterated a tai chi practitioner on same night

Remember “A Hu”, the Chinese MMA fighter who knocked out the fake wing chun “master” last weekend? Well it turns out he actually fought two frauds in one night, and remarkably, beat them both in 72 seconds.
A Hu went viral after obliterating Xu Xiaodong’s old rival Ding Hao in a kick-boxing match, dropping him with a vicious head kick.
But another video unearthed from Chinese social media reveals he pulled double duty and also took on a tai chi practitioner called Song De Cai the same day.
You can probably guess how that fight went too.

Weighing in at 80 kilograms, the 44-year-old Song had the weight and height (1.77 metres) advantage compared to the 24-year-old A Hu (1.75m, 66kg).

A Hu punches Song De Cai.

Right off the bat, Song tries (and fails) with a Bruce Lee-style jump kick, falling flat on his backside. A Hu then throws some leg kicks and roundhouse kicks before battering Song with punches.
Song can only push A Hu away and run, but eventually gets cornered. A Hu hits him with a right hook, an uppercut and then a left hook to the body, and Song crumples to the floor.
The referee counts Song as he tries to get to his feet, then calls it off.

The referee steps between Song De Cai and A Hu
“That liver shot looked brutal, for a tai chi guy that clearly doesn’t do full contact sparring there is no way he could take that punch,” said one commenter on the video, which was posted by YouTube channel Fight Commentary Breakdowns.
“Seriously that guy does not look like he's in shape to fight. Do they even medically clear them to fight? This can lead to serious injuries or even death,” said another.
“It looks like anyone can just show up with a pair of shorts and gloves and make a challenge,” was another comment.
Why do Tai Chi guys insist on getting humiliated like this in the ring?

Shauijiao and sanshou has a more reliable and objective criteria when subject to the concept of "pressure testing i.s. (seeing how the opponent stacks up to 'unknown" variables and how he reacts to said variables in the fight arena.
As a simple practitioenr, when I mention to CMA fellows that you have top train 'hard' and 'soft', I beocme the clown because I do not have lineage so if that lineage is criteria for non martial skill, then so be it.
