My phone blew up this weekend with the sad news of his passing.

He was our March+April 2001 cover master.

The cover story was written by his son Chan Kai Leung - Monkey King: Chan Sau Chung's Journey to the West.

His son was one of the youngest people we've ever placed on our cover.

That was for our July+August 2002.

He also wrote that cover story: Wu Song Breaks Manacles (Wu Song Tuo Kao) Rare Kungfu Form Inspired by Outlaws of the Marsh Has a Comeback

We worked with GM Chan Sau Chung to produce some instructional videos, but those were never converted from VHS to DVD. To be honest, they weren't great sellers, however I was attached to them because my foundation style of Bak Sil Lum used some of the same weapons, notably the Eyebrow-height staff and the Pek Kwar Dan Do. I'm in discussion with Gigi Oh, our publisher emeritus, to find out if she wants to contribute to a remembrance. I'm having some difficulty determining GM Chan's age because he's listed at 85 on wiki (birthdate 1934 May 6) but several people have told me he was 92.
