    Brunei wushu athletes shine at international virtual meet

    Brunei Darussalam wushu athletes produced a strong showing in the International Wushu Federation’s (IWF) Wushu Taolu Virtual Competition 2021.

    The country’s top female practitioner Basma Lachkar led the way with a first category prize in the Taijiquan event after posting a score of 8.583 points and a second category prize in the Taijijian event with 8.303 points.

    Her compatriot and fellow Southeast Asian Games (SEA) medallist Hosea Wong Zheng Yu emulated the feat of attaining a first category prize in the Taijiquan event with 8.173 points.

    The quartet of Lim Yee Sean, Li Ziyan, Walid Lachkar and Abel Lim Wee Yuan also impressed in the international stage after earning good results.

    Lim Yee Sean made a mark in the Taijijian event after winning a first category prize with 8.333 points followed by a second category prize in the Taijiquan event with a score of 8.486 points.

    The trio of Li Ziyan, Walid Lachkar and Abel Lim Wee Yuan also attained second category prizes in their respective events.

    National wushu coach Li Hui expressed satisfaction with the performances of the four new athletes whose online appearances served, as good preparations for future international tournaments.

    L Nelson bags second place in Jianshu event at IWUF Wushu Taolu Virtual Competition

    IMPHAL, Nov 1
    Leimapokpam Nelson Meitei representing Wushu Association of India finished second in the Jianshu Group B event of in the 2021 IWUF Wushu Taolu Virtual Competition being underway since October 27.
    Meanwhile, Manipur's Jona Princie Konsam competing in the Taijijian Group B event secured third and Achom Tapas managed fourth place in the Daoshu Group B event, said founder secretary of Wushu Association of Manipur in a statement.
    The competition will continue till November 3.

    The youtube channel is very interesting. Very few views of the competition 3 weeks ago. There are some great performances buried in there. I'm going to find more when I have spare time. A lot of really bad ones to. Its almost like happy-hour at a Senior Center tai chi class. There's probably a lot more drunken forms since people were sending in footage instead of showing up in person:

    2021 China-Baltic States Wushu Online Competition

    2021 China-Baltic States Wushu Online Competition Concluded Successfully

    BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On November 28, 2021 Beijing time, after 6 days of assessment, the 2021 China-Baltic States Wushu Online Competition came to an end, and the results of the competition were officially announced.

    The competition received more than 3,000 entries from Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) enthusiasts in China and 3 Baltic countries. The total votes exceeded 1.7 million, and the total number of visits to the official website exceeded 7 million. This competition covers a number of traditional Wushu including Changquan, Nanquan, and Taijiquan. In addition, traditional equipment events such as broadsword, sword, cudgel, and spear are also introduced. 6,080 different domestic and overseas awards were selected, including 3,039 judge’s choice awards, 3,039 online popularity awards and 2 most popular entries awards.

    The Latvian Wushu Federation sent a congratulatory message on the successful conclusion of this competition, saying that the 2021 China-Baltic States Wushu Online Competition has closely united Wushu enthusiasts from all over the world, and has also made important contributions to the further popularization and development of Wushu overseas. It plays a vital role in keeping all Wushu enthusiasts positive and optimistic in difficult times.

    “China-Europe Wushu exchanges have a long history, and European Wushu federations are also an important international force in the promotion of Wushu. The China-Baltic Wushu Competition held on the cloud not only acted as a bridge among athletes from all over the world to showcase the results of home exercise during the epidemic, but also offered an excellent opportunity to practice the idea of ‘Making Friends with Wushu’ and enhance the friendship between Wushu enthusiasts and athletes from all over the world,” said Mr. Zhang Zheng, Vice President of the Chinese Wushu Association.

    The Chinese Wushu Association will also join hands with overseas Wushu federations in the future to organize more online Wushu promotion activities.
