Veteran martial arts actor Lee Hoi-sang passes away at 83 after illness

10th September 2024 – (Hong Kong) Lee Hoi-sang, a distinguished martial arts actor and a prominent figure in Hong Kong’s film industry for nearly 40 years, has passed away at the age of 83. The news of his death emerged on 10th September, following reports that he succumbed to complications from a bacterial infection linked to skin lesions.
Lee was best known for his role as a security guard in the popular television series Come Home Love: Lo and Behold. He had quietly retired from acting in December 2023, marking the end of a notable career that began in British Hong Kong.
Throughout his extensive career, Lee was celebrated not only for his acting but also for his expertise in Wing Chun kung fu. He was a disciple of the legendary Yip Man, from whom he learned and later taught the martial art. Lee’s contributions to the industry included roles in iconic films such as The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Shaolin Challenges Ninja, and Project A, where he worked alongside notable actors including Jackie Chan and Gordon Liu.
