    FORUM CHANGES - emotional content

Seems like all I do is cry wolf about the forum changes. Beleive me, there are plenty of things I would rather be posting...

The recent changes are just from Infopop. I guess this is why they decided to change our rates - Do you think this is worth an extra $400 a month? We couldn't afford it anyway...

Our operatives at Infopop and vBulletin have been very uncooperative. It looks like we will not be able to solve the date problem I mentioned in my last post about forum changes. So this is what's supposed to happen:
We will attempt to move the forum tomorrow. If we cannot sovle the date by then, all the previous posts will be dated 1970 instead of 2001. This will affect the display on how you access the data - if you want to see the old threads, you have to select to see everything (this will make more sense when we get there.) We're not sure how that will affect dates on replies yet, but theoretically all new posts will be correct. At least the archive will be preserved (although we will prune the OT posts over time.)

Ah, the 70's. Vinyl records, no internet, Shaolin Temple was still in ruins... How many of us here were even practicing back then?

    Don't worry about it, GeneChing.

I'm not sure if any of us are really looking at old posts anyway.

    The old posts

Actually, the old posts are viewed. We can tell from our reports - we just can't tell which ones exactly or by who, but I suspect it's newbies and lurkers. It's quite an archive really. We generated some great stuff, once you get past all the noise...

Hey Gene, yer making me feel like an old man for pete's sake!

I started training in martial arts way back in 71 (seven years old)!
In 76 I started Isshin Ryu Karate until 79, then cruised through the eighties with boxing, TKD, wrestling and kickboxing along with Yang Tai Chi.

In 94 I finally found Siu Lam Kung Fu and have stuck with it since.

Long Live Shaolin!... and vinyl records,8track tapes, no internet, pong, frogger, pacman, food cooked in an oven that actually was an oven, and all that other retro goodness...:D

    peace

    KL, SD, QS

KL: You are old. So am I. But so is Yoda and Master Po... ;)

SD: Retro goodness - gimme a funky Lalo Schifrin soundtrack for my KF movies like Enter the Dragon - Drowning Pool (the One) just isn't as appealing to me...

QS: That's weird, mine still says powered by Infopop.

ALL: We will try one more solution to the date bug today. If it works we'll transfer. If it doesn't, we may still tranfer, but it depends on the degree of failure. Steady all.

I'm watching back to back "Beretta" in order to brace myself for the shock of transfer.
