    Gene--Question re: mag submission

    Hey Gene,

I downloaded the submission guidelines from the website. I'm thinking about writing an article (mentioned in the main forum), but I have a snag. I'm pretty sure I have 8 pictures to go along with it, but I don't know the name of the guy who took them, or the names of most of the people in them...and I have no idea how to go about getting the names. I have the phone and address of my sifu in Sichuan, but can't carry on a conversation with him (it was hard enough explaining when I had to miss a class). I'm assuming for copyright reasons these are pretty important details, but would someone from the publication office be able to help with a phone call or two?

    photo rights

Photo rights are entirely the authors responsibility. It's really only an issue if the person who owns the photos claims the rights and they come to sue us. When you get an article accepted, you must sign a contract assuming responsiblity of the photos - you must claim ownership. This way, any complaint, well, frankly, they sue you.
