Sifu Fernando Calderon has been studying under Sifu Frank Yee for fifteen years. He began studying martial arts at the age of seven, learning under Sifu Yee. The style and teachings of Sifu Yee have given him the motivation to train students himself.

Sifu Dixon Fung is the Dai Sihing of the Yee's Hung Ga Kung Fu Academy. He has been studying under Master Frank Yee since the 1970's. With the guidance of Master Yee, Sifu Fung began competing and won many tournaments and awards. As a result, the southern Shaolin Kung Fu style of Hung Ga gained recognition as a traditional and authentic Kung Fu Style. Sifu Fung is the fighting divisions chief arbitrator.

Sifu Jessica Calderon is the youngest Senior Disciple of Master Yee's school. She began her training when she was five years old, under her father Sifu Fernando Calderon. Master Yee took his own personal time to further instruct her in the art. She soon became number one in the United States for three consecutive years. She was the PKL Triple crown winner from 1988-1990 in fighting, forms and weapons. She has acquired over four hundred tropies during her competing career.

Sifu Calderon's champion students include: Juan Zhamaiy, Carlos Surrano, Rigo Batres and Jessica Calderon.

    Red face

Thks north practioner for the bio.

I just want to say that Fernando and myself at this time are not actively accepting any new student. Any potential candidate has to go thru an interview process by us. However other Yee's branches are available for you to visit and join.

    peace

If you are in NY, NY, why go the Long Island? You have the best picking right at home?

Are you moving to LI? There really are a lot of schools out here(most of them crap!) so try to limit it down to a style or at least a method.

I know a lot of Hung Gar and Wing Chun guys. A few S. Mantis guys as well but they are not operating out of a location right now and actually setting up shop in Chinatown as I write this. This group has the best fighters I have seen from LI (they always do well in the full fighting at Yee's tournaments. Jimmy (Tall chinese) took second last year. They get disqualified alot, very agressive.

But, if you are going to stay in NY, please let me suggest my sifu's school. It is the best I have seen or attended.

    SPM guys

    Evolution Fist,

Who are the SPM guys you know setting up in Chinatown? Have they started teaching yet? Do they accept non-Chinese?

SPM is a style I have been interested in.

    Any info would be appreciated.
