Or we could just set up our own boards or a text version and just call our moves. It doesn't take long to learn algebraic notation or descriptive notation.

But then how do we know we are playing a person and not some geek who is just inputting your moves into a program and showing us the computers response?

I only play honor games with friends. Anyone else has to take me on live. Too easy to cheat.
