On the one side I have stories told in thousands of places all across China, I have tradition from my lineage, I have knowledge of Wushu and I know for certain they would not have practiced military arts without some kind of unarmed practice, it is even idiotic to think so, I have the forms and techniques themselves from many different sources, etc.
On the other side I have one line from one 17th century book which I have yet to see and translate myself.
It makes sense to believe the stories in this case.
