There's a vid if you follow the link, but it opens with the statement "The number 1 Female MMA fighter". Uh, I don't think so. The statement in the text below is far more accurate.

The world's former No. 1-rated female boxer-turned-mixed martial arts fighter is headed to the big screen.

Holly Holm is scheduled to appear with fellow Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter and Tacoma, Washington, native Miesha Tate in an upcoming film called "Fight Valley," promoter Lenny Fresquez told the Albuquerque Journal in a story Monday.

Fresquez, Holm's longtime Albuquerque promoter, says filming will begin in August.

Michael Lucas, director of photography for the project, described "Fight Valley" in an email as a female version of the 1999 Brad Pitt film "Fight Club."

"Fight Valley" is basically about an underground fighting circuit where women go to settle their differences, he said.

"I think she could punch a hole through a cinderblock wall," Lucas said. "To be able to have a girl like that on set and know that (she and Tate) are gonna be putting their all for us is gonna be really exciting."

A website promoting "Fight Valley" says Tate plays "Jabs," a former underground champion who comes to the aid of a dead woman's sister. Holm plays a character named Payton Walsh, a mainstream fighter who shows "Jabs" what it's like to fight within the rules.

The UFC announced last month that undefeated Holm (8-0) will face California teacher Marion Reneau (6-1) on July 15 in San Diego.

Currently ranked tenth in the world in the bantamweight division, the New Mexico-born Holm is coming off her first UFC win over Raquel Pennington in February.
