personally, although I have never done it, I know of one guy who was a long-time and high-level ba gua practitioner who claimed that he did this on a regular basis; one claim he made was that it helped him one time when he had a tooth go septic and he eschewed the use of anti-biotics, using, as he put it, "formula p" and a combination of herbs such as golden seal, echinacea and myrrh; again, just reporting what I heard, not condoning or condemning either way, just info for the thread;

TCM is a prescience, but I shake my head at those that choose it over things modern medicine gives, such as antibiotics.

perhaps modern taboo(most likely due to religious dogma) is a key factor in perpetrating the misinformation? it seems like it is still practiced in certain cultures to this day...
