    Useless Wing Chun Techniques?

Do you feel some techniques, forms or training drills are useless in Wing Chun in the modern day?

    If so what are they?

That depends on who your teacher is, and what has been lost and misinterpreted by WC mcdojos , WC has been so watered down, only a shell of it of it is alive today.

So most of what was in the original art is lost, so most of the routines and exercises everyone is doing are done with the wrong reason and thus wrong results, mostly because the core is never developed first, just a lot of flowery hand techniques that will not withstand much of an attack without collapsing.

Well thats not what i meant concerning WC sifus who cant fight nor teach proper techniques for real fighting. What i mean is techniques that are outdated which were design to fight Hung Ga or Tai chi guy of the day...but not the boxer or Muay Thai guy today?

Now see, this is exactly what has come to water down Wing Chun. Too many people bouncing around from kwoon to kwoon, teacher to teacher, never really learning the concepts and the why of it all, making their own little interpretations of what should and shouldn't be, cutting out or adding to it, then having the audacity to teach it for proper Wing Chun.

Kung Fu movies have styles. Fighting has no styles. No choreographed moves. Never had.

True on fighting. Just different approaches to development of skills.
    Plus individual abilities and understanding.
I don't watch many kung fu movies.

A silly question. Wing chun is not a collection of techniques.
