i actually don't think it's shopped. Just in a ****disturbing mood this morning as i'm going two nights with only three/four hours sleep total.
I do the no hands headstand as well, but I use a wall for my feet to touch and a mung bean bag for my head.

It depends on the student. Figure how long it takes someone to strengthen their neck. Then it's just a matter of learning where the balancing point is on the skull, keeping proper spinal alignment and being able to safely apply it. For myself I have no idea how long it took to develop the needed strength, I had been training for probably 2 years before I ever attempted it. But, when I tried it it took maybe an hour of practice to figure out the balance.
Honestly though still shots are misleading. Ever wonder why you've never see it done on video? Because it's not possible to balance it for too long and it's not impressive to see the guy fall over after a second or two. I think the longest I've personally ever held it (when I practiced it a lot) was about 6 seconds.
