It's actually on the Chines border but the outer border of Xinjiang is hardly of any strategic use to the US. You'd me far better served by looking at what's west of Afghanistan. I had some Serbian acquaintances back in the late 90's telling me all the time how we were going to be invading some place just east of the Black and Caspian seas. We've been systematically surrounding the region for 10-15 years. It's not enough to control Iran and Iraq. You need to protect the pipelines leading north out of the region. To the west we have Turkey, an ally. On the east . . .

I was skeptical back in '99-'00 about the "need" for an invasion of some place east of the Caspian sea but changed my mind on 9-11. A couple of things would be helpful, familiarize yourself a bit more with the biography of Takuan, the principles of Zen/Ch'an, and also read the family writings and history of the Yagyu Clan.
