Good stuff there. I'll be honest, I'm totally entertained by the whole ancient alien theory and hollow earth and well, many other way off the beat subjects. However, I remain completely skeptical. Theres just some things that don't pass the sniff test. Still, thanks for posting that, as I'm sure it was in jest! BTW, those artifacts have not been validated yet but if they were I'd be more on board with this one. I'm sure the strange language brainwashed me into some sort of manchurian candidate so look for me to turn up in the news somewhere. Let this be a record of my innocence...

It was predicted that snow fall increase in Antarctica should offset some warming. Unfortunately that isn't panning out quite so well as hoped.

I purposely avoided getting into this when you first posted. But do you really not understand the difference between studying climate and having practical knowledge about travelling through such regions and how not knowing one does not mean you don't understand the other?

Besides, if you want to attack the data, then attack the data. It's also worth mentioning that when a reporter writes an article about a paper, that does not mean they understand the paper. That's the disconnect. Not the data, but how some may choose to interpret the data without the proper qualifications. We see that time and time again.

Think you may have missed the point.
When you address the "layman" with climate change models that state "X", "Y" and "Z" and then, after many, many years, those very "X", "Y" and "Z", do not pan out as YOU PUT THEM OUT there ( the example being the thinning of the polar ice caps) then you put yourself in the position that the "layman" will see "X" ( you getting stuck in thick ice) and deduce that you and your models were full of it.

That was the point.

It had actually very little to do with climate change but everything to do with a group of climate scientists shooting themselves in the foot.

Well, that's the problem right there. Layman interpretations made by laymen. Knowhutimsayin? The fact that people believe it's not true cause it snowed near their house yesterday says it all. Most people don't even know the difference between weather and climate. Regardless of the perception, misinterpretations and misinformation, the science is strong. Just because it's misunderstood doesn't make it not true. The trend is very real.
