Lie means to stop the opponent's power or energy abruptly.
your power or energy is horizontal to the opponent's power or energy.
abruptly downward, abruptly upward
usually you go slightly upward and suddenly downward and vice versa.
there is an arc or circle in between the sudden change of directions.
Lie is used to mean some general things among styles
but also specific things in each style.
