    Roger Corman (1926-2024) RIP

    Greetings,

This well known director made many B movies. My first experience with one of his films was "Death Race 2000", a film that starred the late David Carridine and co-starred a person who would soon make a name for himself: Sylvester Stallone as Machine Gun Joe. This film was a nod to the film "The 10th Victim" (an adaptation of Robert Sheckley's short story, "The 7th victim), both of which were a predictive glimpse of what we now accept in our culture as reality television. Here is the film:

He made the low budget film "The Fantastic Four" (posted in the Off Topic thread). This film as well as "Death Race 2000" are testimonies that it is not the budget that makes the movie; but rather, the creative mind behind it. Roger Corman had that creative mind and he never let that go.

Enjoy your journey, Mr. Corman. And thank you for being!

EDIT: Here is "The 10th Victim":

He was responsible for a lot of A movies too.

As a foreign film distributor, he brought us one of my fav Kurosawa films, Derzu Uzala, as well as Amacord, Fantastic Planet, and the Tin Drum.
