    You need to provide your own avatar, then upload it through your member functions. There are size limitations (I can't remember off the top of my head.)

    well i have the avatar and tried to change it but after i chose change avatar entered it then submited the mod it still does not show?????

    I did mine by myself :P

    It won't work if you upload from a computer..has to be off a website. avatar must be 50 by 50 pixels. and there is a file size limit of 20 k... those are your parameters..make sure your chosen avatar isn't too big, or too many pixels.
