    based on this famous photo of the originator of your style, who is suposed to be a shaolin monk.

    He is wearing a western style suit and tie.

    So I'm asking where would a shaolin monk purchase a suit and tie ? It doesn't seem likely as I wouldn't think the monks would have the resources to buy a suit.
