could i get any benefit from this, or does it just look cool?

i've been thinking about learning some simple for of shaolin kung fu like, Xiaohongquan, just for kicks. but are there any physical benefits that come with it? ie. speed,, concentration, etc..?

is Xiaohongquan a good form to learn for beginners? i heard it was like the gist of shaolin gong fu, or something...

I just wanna learn some traditional stuff for once, besides it looks pretty sweet too.

Hey son, I bought you a puppy today after work. But then I killed it and ate it! Hahah, I´m just kidding. I would never buy you a puppy.

I thought Chang Quan was the beginner Shaolin form.

    If we're talking Songshan Shaolin...

...the Xiaohongquan is the gateway set. It opens the door.

Tai tzu Chang Chuan is more advanced. Infact, from what i gather, it's like 700-800 moves long, and taught in 16-18 sections.

Of course then there's the 32 move form commonly seen too
Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

I have a video of Shaolin Tai Tzu Chang Chuan. It must be the 32-move version. A nice form, though.
