hello. sifu troy dunwood teaches lau family drunken boxing in oakland,ca. his site is joybotsin.com. hope this helps.
Drunken boxing as a style within itself is very rare. Indeed, Sifu Dunwood's school is the only one that I know of. However, drunken forms are found within the syllabus of many traditional Shaolin styles. Choy li fut has 3 drunken forms (depending on lineage), Hung Kuen has it's own version of the 8 drunken immortals form, I know a southern shaolin form Joy Lohan, eagle claw has it's 9 drunken tumbles form, and Songshan Shaolin has it's drunken boxing form, as well as drunken pole and drunken sword.

i think the key of have a drunken form inside a system is know a alternate way of fighting based on surprise and confution .
like a hidden as you can show in the right moment .
wushu version of drunken kung fu is spectacular and very artistic , but you can't use that for real fighting .
leung ting productions have book and video about a southern drunken kung fu form . i have the tape and i recomended this video .
also master li siu hung have a instructional tape about 8 drunken immortals . this video is really good and exelent for street fighting . you can order at

Espy-tv sells a video on drunken style that also demonstrates snake style. Go to www.espytv.com. Go to the kung fu video section and click on snake style. I hope this helps. Peace.

from what I've seen on some of the articles in the mags, I don't think ANYONE actually knows Joi Bot Sien. If it's not some wu-shu version, it's usually some made up form with a lineage that isn't verifyable. The articles usually look like some guy playing in his backyard-making up movie Kung-Fu-wearing a cheap 'Kung-Fu Uniform"-you know-with the white frogs and the big white cuffs!
Lama P'ai, and Choy Li Fut have drunken sets, and Hung-Ga has drunken sections in their fu hok and ng ying kuen, and Tai Shing Pek War has a drunken set. Wah Lum also has a set. These are at least verified, these other guys seem to be lop-sop. So what if a guy has an article in Popular Kung-Fu Illustrated, and a website? My Sifu 's daughter has a website too, and she's 12!

HungMoJue, I agree. Although i would love to learn drunken boxing (especially the Hung Kuen 8 Drunken Immortals because I do Hung Kuen) there isn't anyone who is easy to find to learn the GENUINE techniques and forms. A lot of kung fu schools are too commercialised and I am eternally grateful to my Sifu for teaching me the art of Hung kuen on a one to one basis-now thats GOT to be good!!
peace everyone OFZ
