    The countdown begins...

This will probably be the last time I take a look at the computer until Monday. Tomorrow we start picking up the folks at the airport and taking them to the hotels, then officials meeting, get a few hous of sleep, competition on Saturday followed by the most important part of the weekend, Brazilain BBQ!!!

The tournament will be great because it's already a celebration!!!

BTW - For those that can't make it but would like to "participate" in a wonderful capacity, check this out:

The theme of our tournament is "Success through the humility of of true sportsmanship". The tournament is a big deal in that this is the first sanctioned Chinese Martial Arts tournament ever held in the state. Competitors are flying in from both coasts to participate.

To commemorate the event, we've created a limited edition, full color poster. Only 500, numbered & signed posters are available. Printed on 16 5/8" x 27" heavy weight, acid free paper, they're covered with a varnish like coating for extra protection.

Through Sunday, July 30th 2006, proceeds of the poster sales will be donated to the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation (BCRF). Its a local organization that supports women who are battling various stages of breast cancer. Their mission is: "To nurture, enhance and aid in the physical, emotional and spiritual recovery of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer."

We're hoping to make contributions to worthwhile causes an integral part of every tournament. Its our school's philosophy to participate in the local community.

The posters are $15.00 each, sales tax, & shipping included. Or stop by the school at 3361 E. Washington Avenue, Madison WI to purchase a poster there for $10.00. If you pay by check, please make it out to Roden Creative. They are a tournament sponsor. Take a look the poster and if you want to help us donate $5.00 per poster to the BCRF PLEASE order one today!

Congratulations to USCKF North Region director Shifu Ferriera and all competitors at yesterday's first North Region tournament!!! This was truly an amazingly well done event. All of the competitors, judges, and teachers deserve much credit for the high level of competition, sportsmanship, and environment of mutual respect.

Yes indeed Sifu Caughey! It was a wonderful time and thank you for all your help, guidance and awesome job on the masters demo!

We had a total of 74 competitors, from 14 different schools, representing 6 states!

It was a great first event and we look forward to hosting it every year, so far all reports have been positive, even though we had a few delays and unforseen obstacles everyone from volunteers to competitors did an outstanding job to make this all run smoothly.

Next stop Hunt Valley for the US qualifiers and then Singapore for the worlds!!!

Keep checking the site for updates on placings, pictures and video... also later on we will have the event DVD for sale.
