Seek out James Rodriguez in Worcester if you want the best.

WORCESTER !!
If you are looking for the best in Mantis Boxing then you must visit Worcester . The only Traditional 7 Star teacher in the U.K. is based there. Check out Authentic kung Fu's club listing page for his contact details.
You may have to travel but it will be worth it .

u sound kinda biased
do u train there ?
have you done any other mantis ?
I have not seen anything from the school in worcester and I am sure they will be a good school but to say they are the best in the uk is a bold statement showing a lack of wu de!
Highly respected teachers such as Michael Lee and Derek Frearson have forgot more about Mantis than most of us will ever know not to mention several other longstanding teachers such as Paul Drummond. This is not about politics, check out a school and if it suits you follow that school, but if you are goig to say such and such is the best, show some proof.
Happy New Year and best wishes to all of you.
Paul
ok but has anybody actually got the adress and class times for the 7 star school in manchester
Golden Arhat,
I have trained in Northern mantis since 1987 and was introduced to Traditional Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan last year.
If you are not familiar with Northern Mantis then it is well worth visiting the three main branches represented here in the U.K.
You will find some good schools across the North of England teaching 7 Star Mantis from Hong Kong.
Sifu Mike Lee and Sifu Derek Frearson's students have clubs near to you.
Check them out.
You will not be disappointed in what they teach.
The only advice I can offer is to take the time and visit the different families of 7 Star Mantis , speak to the instructors and see first hand what they do, if you contact the above Sifu I'm sure they will point you in the right direction
Good luck in your search.
( Check out the Worcester School !! )
more sweat in training , less blood in combat
yeah il check them out
and if im ever in worcsester il check that club out too
where do you live ?
ive always liked mantis cos it seemed like one of the only truly realistic chinese systems still available
YES i finally found their site
thanks guys
I now live in Oxford .
There is a very small group of us left in this area that have all trained in 7 Star Praying Mantis since the early 1980's. I was the last to join this group . We still meet up on a regular basis.
It is good to see the art of Mantis boxing growing in the U.K. I remember when it was only Sifu Mike Lee , Sifu Dave Hawkins and Sifu Paul Drummond teaching . It was hard to promote the style then , no real interest by most people. Now with the introduction of Sifu Lee Kam Wings branch in the mid 1990's it is very easy to find a school .
Mantis has a lot to offer but it is not for everyone . It is best to see the different branches as they all offer a different outlook on this style.
You may have to travel to find a school that you like .
There are lots of good websites out there on Mantis , check them out . Do your homework first .
From memory the only schools in the U.K. teach 7 Star Mantis , I do not know if any of the Wah Lum guys still teach it.
I hope you like the style .
Good luck
more sweat in training , less blood in combat
do you train in yinzi tanglang with master zhe

anyone got michael lees number ?
No I trained under Paul Drummond from 1987 until 2004 at his Mantis Cave School in his Northern 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
I didn't know there was anybody teaching Mantis in Oxford.
Good to hear.
more sweat in training , less blood in combat
I don't think that any of Sifu Mike Lee's current students are on this site.
Your best bet is to visit his web site if you want to contact him.
