    the mantis BAjiquan connection?

it seems mantis and baji are very connected in the sense that i keep seeing baji and mantis cross training....in the baji school i checked out "pachi-tanglang" they start u off on mantis or tai chi and then u get into baji when the sifu deems u ready. is there any reason why this may be? it seems something like baji might be better suited for cross training with tai chi, no? any light someone could shed would be appreciated thanks

THe reason you see the two together so often is because they are the meat and potatoes of Wutang's curriculum (of which Su Yu Chang of Pachi Tanglang fame comes from). THey had many students that came over from Taiwan and started teaching in North America.
Otherwise no connection in the arts.
