Ya know Frank Ley performed a Snake Fist form when GM Nick Cerios was down to promote Charlie back in the early 90's. I've always liked that form. It was very simple and seemed to have some good applications based on my observations.

This is retarded. I know a real buddha palm form.
It is bias to think that the art of war is just for killing people. It is not to kill people, it is to kill evil. It is a strategem to give life to many people by killing the evil of one person.

If you were this guy's instructor, what would you tell him to do differently?

First thing is that he really makes it a point to rifle those strikes and kicks out there. Nice job. Seen too many people with brown and black belts at that age start just growing the motions halfway through the form.

    1. Drop your stance and relax your shoulders.
    2. While stepping back and doing the ridge hand blocks, do not bring his hands back to do the spear strikes, strike from where your hands are. As a brown belt you should understand your hand is already in a coiled position from the doing the ridge hand block (basic 8 point blocking w/strikes learned at yellow/orange should be referenced).
    3. When stepping back and facing 9 o'clock for whatever-that-black is called, you are dropping your stance correctly but then popping up for the clear and then dropping your stance for the strike. Keep the stance at the same right through the whole segment.
    4. The back fist to 3 o'clock after the side kick is done nicely, the one to 9 o'clock is rushed through. I imagine because he's getting excited about the kick that's coming up.
    5. I want to say something about the flying side kick but I see he was concerned about space.
    6. The upward block/spear hand is done nicely, but the downward parry from the upward block is too exaggerated and stiff, the follow up spear hand should be snuck right in after the downward parry, there is too much time between them.
    7. From where you hands are in the parry and spear, perform the clearing motion form there, don't let your hands drop. Also after the clear grab right away, your letting your hands drop (again, yellow/orange basics).
    8. The turn and block has no substance behind it, make it more solid, again don't let the hand drop before striking with the same hand (again, yellow/orange basics).
    9. The upward back kick and upward spear hand looks goofy because they are in fact, just that goofy LOL. Always hated that ending.

Here's another Shaolin Kempo guy that thinks he's doing kung fu.

Here's one of this students doing Dragon Sword Set #1. I've only seen it done in USSD schools, never anywhere else. Form never made much sense to me. I'm pretty sure it was pulled out of someone's ass.
