Trained at the local branch of the IWCA (I'm out south west) up until about September last year. Stopped going to class for a while (needed to sort out some things), wound up getting a job working nights so that stopped me from training for a while. Now I'm not sure whether to go back there or start somewhere else. A few things about their organisation still bug me.

So I'm not really actively training at a school/with an instructor but I've been practicing what I've learned at home. It's not a great substitute I admit, but it's better than stopping altogether.

You?

I'm disposed favourably to the idea.

At 56 I'm not really up for deathmatches or comparing skills under MMA rules, though.

I recommend leaving uniforms, sashes, lineage, ranks, and attitude at home. Casual clothes, casual disposition.

Maybe a bit of easygoing comparison of forms, approaches and drills in a park (Botanical Gardens comes to mind), followed by a coffee or visit to a pub to tell tall tales and true.

I really enjoyed meeting duende/Alex from this forum earlier this year, and hope we can pull off something equally enjoyable,

I hope that you have nice visit in Sydney. I have never been to Oz. I dated a wonderful lady from Oz in Phoenix . She has passed away now- she was a great ballerina in her youth- then an impressario and teacher and member of major arts boards in Australia before moving to Arizona.

Good idea Glenn, may be pick somewhere neutral, so we can all meet and leave politics behind? on a Sunday or a public holiday? Somewhere we can have a good feed after?
