    Smile 8 Hard Ways

    Hi BeiTanglang,

Great Start with the 8 Hard. There are a few thoughts that I would like to share.

<<<The Eight Hard Ways (Ba Gong Sao)
    (Taken from authenickungfu.com Webpage)>>>

I think the term Ba Gang Shou (R) would refer to actual techniques; while Ba Gang Fa (R) would refer to principle. Arguable, we could apply fussy logic in this case. I feel Ba Gang Shou would give a much more precise meaning to the group of techniques that followed although Ba Gang Fa would better fit the bracketed explanations, which are principle oriented.

<<<1. Tai San Ngat Ding (C)
"Mountain Tai Falls On The Inscense Burner"
    (Chopping Down Motions) >>>

Tai Shan Ya Ding - Mount Tai Press upon the crown

I like the explanation in principle (pun intended). I also prefer to express this as:

Principle :- Heavy strike that of a chopping down or sling shot motion to the high line (ie the head).

technical :- Attack with Hammer fist or back fist to the vital area(s) of the head. [see "Ba Da Ba Bu Da"]

Note: back fist (beng chui) that sling shot to the head is known as "small mount Tai press upon the crown" Xiao Taishan Ya Ding.

I think the following ones can use the same format. It could be even more elaborate if we add in references to the 8 strike and 8 forbiden strike area(s). I love to hear the feed back on whether this format is clear enough before spending time on the rest of the material.

    <<<Ref:
    (C) -Cantonese
    (R) -Mandarin>>>

    That's handy. Thanks BeiTangLang.

It's interesting, my Shifu always refers to the four attack methods as: dian (attack pressure points), da (hit=kick, punch, elbow, slap, etc.), shuai (throw), and na (grab).
