me too. I was there last week. Its such an amazing place. Theres a big school as you go upthe mountain towards the mountain village place, but I didnt check it out. Only saw it through the bus window.

Wudang doesnt seem as commercial as shaolin.

I climbed right up to the golden peak palace.

    Wudang is AMAZING!

Right on Ben. How long are you training there? I've been watching that teacher for awhile.

    Not yet

I'll also be there beginning this summer, around July.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to acclimate to alot of the ideas easily, so if anyone else is around (at any of the schools) that wants to hang out I would like to meet you there.

Basically I'm just a rank novice, and it might benefit me to have some things explained or shown to me in my native language or within a cultural context that I can relate to more easily.

I'm a big, crazy looking guy, but pretty nice and no serious ego trips about martial arts, either - so if someone will be around in or after July I'd like to meet up.

Can I ask an honest question?

How do you guys afford studying abroad? Serious question.....

Well I don't know how they do it, but I'm saving up for it myself.

$100 dollars a month's going in the bank until I can do it. It'll take two years, unless I get a decent tax return!

Okay, that's $2,400. How long will that last you in China? Just curious.

No training at Wudang but I did get some (VERY BASIC) Ba Gua from a Taoist priest at the local temple in Lishi. Mostly just the stepping.

I was at WuDong for a few months, but I don't think most of you can pass the entrance exam, its not for the average person, they won't MEASURE up.

Well, I'm actually hoping for closer to three grand with what I've got already. I'm looking at staying for a month long program, the same one that's being discussed here. About 1,300 covers room, board, and classes. My plane ticket and a bit of spending money sucks up the rest.

OK, so I'm back from Wudang
Training at Master Yuan's school was awesome. Training's 7 hours a day, lots of good basics, and a host of cool forms to learn. Master Yuan is a great guy with spectacularly good kung fu (videos don't do him justice), and the school is very friendly. There's usually 10-15 foreigners there, and because you all live, eat and train together there's a fantastic atmosphere and sense of community.
The school building is basic but clean, and the rooms are the same, but we had a laminate floor, aircon and a western toilet and shower, so nothing to complain about.
Training is usually at the Yuzhu palace, which is a 2-3 minute walk from the school, and is really cool. Walk behind the school fo 20 minutes and you're right up in the foothills with great scenery, birds and butterflies and mountain streams you can swim in. All very cool.
