You need a sometimes vote!
Years ago, I read a study that suggested that grunting when you lift heavy weights is a way to control one's exhalation.
Sometimes I roar. Especially when I work out at home.
only when i show your momz how strong i am
When using the valsalva maneuver, a quick yell or grunt increases the pressure on the abdominal wall, allowing for a momentary increase in power.
So, yeah.
Lol, had they ever used a belt before?
i don't think so...something about belts promoting bad form...but, then again, they didn't believe in glove use or opposing grip on heavy deads.
Well i'm with them on gloves. I don't think they're needed.
As for the alternating grip, they're useful once you're past weight that double overhand can handle.
Hook grip is where it's at with heavy weight, though. Just takes a while to get used to it.
do u guys prefer HENG or HA
Heng  = grunt
HA  = shout
Shouting HA  wastes all your qi. One should instead keep the mouth closed and grunt HENG . Use the nose to breathe. The ridiculousness of the emoticons shows the difference. HENG  is where the power's at, not HA .
I guess it depends on whether your aim is to be good at shouting, or bringing more power into your movements.
