Wink Once Upon a Time in China I, II, III

Just got done w/ OUTC I and getting ready to start II.
    Anyone else done this?
    How historically accurate are they?
Do they get better or worse?
Anyone read any good books on the Boxer Rebellion?
I've read most of a book,"The Dragon Syndicates", about
the Triads and it has some info on the triad involvement during
    the BR.
I've seen a book simply titled "The Boxer Rebellion" but haven't
    purchased it yet.

...just stretching my legs and refilling the Guinness.....

    Happy Labor Day !!!

2 very good, donnie yen kicks ass in it

    3 not that good

4,5,6 - load up on the guinness

historically accurate? not entirely. As far as the first one goes, I don't know if Wong actually fought an iron body master. In part 2 he meets Sun Yat Sen, which I doubt really happened. no historical accuracy from there on.

    Thanks !

Couldn't do all 3 in one night.

I didn't think they were going to be all that accurate.

    DY is pretty good.

We'll give the third a go tonight.

    4, 5, 6 ??? haven't even seen them on the shelf.

Are there any titles out there that DO have some
    historical accuracy?

oh, and what is the form they are doing on the beach
in the beginning of 1 and 2? Anything of note?

    thanks,

    Matt

I don't think 4 or 5 even have Jet Li in them.

6, however, is one of my favorites, no matter what anyone else says. It's not called "Once Upon a Time in China 6"... it's called "Once Upon a Time in China and America". Wong Fei Hung comes to the USA! LOL... great fun! Especially the (Mexican? Does anybody know who/what that badguy in black was supposed to be?) main bad guy.

On a similar note... has anyone seen "Last Hero In China"? It seems to be a spoof of the Once Upon a Time in China, but it stars Jet Li as Wong Fei Hung again... very odd movie

    Anyway.. just my opinion...

4 and 5 have Zhao Wen Zhuo and from what I've heard he would have been the next Jet Li if Jet wasn't around. I wish people would pay more attention to him and other actors. It's cool to see jet but there's more that Jet Li you know.

Zhao Wen Zhao is good amazing! He's also the bad guy in the original fong sai yuk!

If u wanna check out some of his movies:

Fong Sai Yuk (as the bad guy)
    Blade
the Blacksheep Affair (also has Shu Kei in it)
Body Weapon <--- DEF worth checking out if u also happen to like Angie Cheung wai yee
    Fist Power

to name a few... Blade is probably the best of those imo
    happy watching

Also i like the likes of Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng - stormriders was excellent as was a man called hero... also has anyone seen Aarons 2000AD? Pretty rad film with a special appearance by kenneth lo

I wasn't saying that only Jet would be good... actually, i like a large assortment of CMA/Actors.

My only problem is that I hate when they switch the actor in the middle of a series... Western or Chinese movie

All right now, son, I want you to get a good night's rest. And remember, I could murder you while you sleep.
Hey son, I bought you a puppy today after work. But then I killed it and ate it! Hahah, I´m just kidding. I would never buy you a puppy.
