At least 32 Dead at Virginia Tech

Not newsworthy? Maybe I'm just upset because I'm a college kid in Virginia who knew A LOT of people who went to V. Tech. but how is this not news worthy? These were young people in school. We would like to hope that our schools are safe. Yes, many people die everyday, but when blood is spilled on our own soil, on such a massive scale, and it's young people? Yeah, it's worthy of news.

My heart goes out to the young children the world over who die each day from poor nutrition and disease, but this too is important.

Whatever ... today over 100 people in the U.S. died in car accidents. And tomorrow another 100. And the next day another 100.

Yet, they are making a stink about 28 people dying in VA.

100 people dying a day seems a lot more important.

Bottom line is who the heck cares? It's hard to care about 28 people dying when people in Iraq are dying like mad and nobody does anything about it.

When too many people are breeding and 18,000 children a day are dying of malnutrition and disease.

When over a hundred are dying every day from car accidents in the U.S. alone and nobody does anything about it.

When the entire species is populating like crazy and destroying the environment, so that the entire species will probably die out in a few hundred years or less.

28 people are basically nothing compared to those problems.

YET, YET, you are so freaked out about these 28 people ... which is really stupid.

You know I'm sure everyone understands what you're saying, It's just the manner in which you're saying it that's a problem. To say that the lives of 32 people is nothing, is a bit senseless. Those 32 lives will effect many other lives in family and friends. Yes many people die in car crashes everyday, so does many of malnutrition and other factors. One life is too much to lose, so to say that 32 dying do to murder means less than another is just silly.

there are MANY places and people dedicated to those starving children.

i sponsor a family myself.

those places have thier outlets, but you get your panties in a bunch when people want to recognize this AS WELL!

Whatever ... meantime over 40,000 people a year die in car wrecks in the U.S. and something like 2 million around the world. That's over 100 a day in the U.S. and over 5000 a day around the world.

This isn't really newsworthy.

What I'm pointing out here is that CNN has a HUGE spread about this tragedy.

Okay, and then they have ONE LINE, about the 18,000 children who die every day in Africa of starvation and disease.

ONE FRICKING LINE about 18,000 KIDS DYING EVERY DAY yet all anybody is talking about is these people in VA.

You have to understand that news right here at home, is going to get a lot more press than news on the other side of the world?!?! You also have to know that news is a business more than it is a source of what's going on in the world...

If that's your problem/beef, then blame the media, but don't say that 32 people losing their lives is nothing or meaningless compared to others dying across the world! I'm sure if any of those 32 were your family you wouldn't be saying their deaths were not important or news worthy!
