Yoshihiro Takayama, one half of the most infamous brawl in mixed martial arts history, has been left paralysed from the neck down.

This happens after he suffered a spinal chord injury in May when Takayama was wrestling an opponent, who was one to deliver the punch.

Japanese website Kakutolog confirmed the news only two days ago.

Takayama is well-known and popular amongst martial arts fans as another second professional, Don Frye, stood toe-to-toe in the Fight of the Year 2002.

Frye was the one to the win fight, but it's still regarded as one of the most famous fights in MMA history.
Takayama is a Japanese pro-wrestler (I don't think he's WWE) who competed in MMA.
